The persuasive power of numbers in … Crime?

You may have already seen one of our articles on how Netflix uses statistics to reduce piracy and another article on the movie Moneyball, and how statistics was used to change the way baseball was looked at.

Here’s a TED talk by Anne Milgram, who came up with the idea that statistics and data could play an important role in giving justice and making communities safer.

She has pioneered a way the jurisdictions can take decisions about criminals, helping them across USA, decide which criminals can be released after serving their time in prison and which criminals shouldn’t be released, based on both data and their instincts.
